Special Strength: Incredibly fast. (The dragonfly can move at an amazing 45 miles an hour, hover like a helicopter fly backwards like a hummingbird, fly straight up, down and on either side. It can do this while flapping its wings only 30 times a minute while mosquitoes and houseflies need to flap their wings 600 and 1000 times.) This is now true in human form as well.

Weakness: anything dealing with ice and extremely cold climates, if she holds her illusions for too long she may faint

Major Skill: Illusion Magic-
Scales: Make you look small, and her look big or visa versa
Staged: Lighting effects. Extreme white or pitch black, even making shadowy or white shapes appear

Fusion Magic: Brighid can combine with someone she has a strong bond with. They then work together until either an enemy is defeated, or Brighid faints from loss of magic.

Whirlwind (enough to knock you off your feet, but not uproot a tree)
Water Flail (water whip- breaks after 3 strikes)
Big Bubble (when near water, brighid can gather it up and transport it freely...lakes, not oceans)

Personality: Rebelious, but has a lot of poise. It's obvious she comes from a royal family, but only because of the way she carries herself. She won't talk down to you unless you've offended her or a friend. She has not problem sticking up for the people that always have her back.

Dragonflies are known for their ability to hover in one spot for a very long time and for their darting from place to place.

In the Dakota/Lakota mythology, the dragonfly is equated with the mirage or illusion, because their wings beat so rapidly that the human eye cannot see it. In the Lakota tribe, this insect and concept of illusion was often invoked when they wanted to confused their enemies. Dragonfly represented the god or spirit of “Whirlwind.”

In Ireland, some fables told that if you followed a dragonfly, it would lead you to fairies. Others said that they were the steeds of fairies.

Dragonflies are so full of spiritual energy and a sort of magic, that they represent the ability to travel between dimensions.

In sweden, folklore says that dragonflies come around to check for bad souls - to weigh souls to be more ‘accurate’. They're believed to sneak up to children who tell lies and also adults who curse and scold, to stitch up their eyes, mouth, and ears.)

Bio: Brighid is a sister in a long line of royal escorts. When she reaches the ripe age of 400, she pairs up with a fairy and is appointed to watch over the daughter of the next royal kin. On her 200th birthday, her training for that exact purpose began! She was sent off to Monster Academy to learn how to use and strengthen her power so when the time came, she could serve with a fairy to the royals.

Brighid is not the first born nor is she the first choice in her family, however she must go through the training anyway. She wasn't entirely keen on that fact until just recently when her own older sister enrolled in the academy. Her sister had previously decided to take the path of the Devil's Needle, and thus was ordered by her "Master" to destroy the good name of her family. Just choosing the path would hurt their mother and eldest sister's reputation, but as for Brighid...she'd need to be killed. Who knew what this school was building her up to become! So, Brighid was left to face her murderous sister in the halls and classrooms all through the winter holidays. It wasn't until then...at her most dire hour...that Brighid realized how much she needed the friends that she had come to love so much. They came to her aid without a second's pause.

After graduating her Freshman year with the peers who saved her, Brighid seems to have accepted something within herself. Perhaps she will embrace her destiny after all, as long as it includes her friends!
